Who is responsible
The Spreadlog is responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email editorial@thespreadlog.com.
What we collect
When you browse the site
Like any website, our hosting server receives technical information each time a page loads: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. This is recorded in server logs, used to keep the site secure and working, and kept only as long as our hosting provider’s standard log retention.
We don’t currently use analytics tools, advertising trackers or social media pixels. If we add any, we’ll update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Country check for broker links
The Reserve Bank of India does not allow residents to trade forex with unauthorised overseas platforms, or such platforms to be promoted to them, so on pages that carry broker links your browser makes one small request to our own server, which compares your IP address with the public IP allocation list published by APNIC, the regional internet registry. If the address is allocated to India, the broker links on that page are hidden. The check happens on our server only: no third-party service sees your IP, nothing is stored, and no cookie is set.
When you email us
If you contact us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to act on your message, such as checking a correction. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it and to keep a record of corrections.
What we don’t collect
We don’t offer accounts, comments or newsletters, and we never ask for trading account details, ID documents or payment information. If anyone claiming to be from The Spreadlog asks for these, it isn’t us.
Cookies
Readers of the site don’t receive tracking cookies from us. WordPress sets functional cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. Our caching system may use technical cookies needed to serve pages quickly. Fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page doesn’t send your data to font providers.
Links to brokers
Some links on this site lead to broker websites, and some of those are paid partnerships, as explained in our advertising disclosure. When you click one, the broker’s website, its tracking systems and its own privacy policy apply from that point. A broker may record that you arrived from The Spreadlog so it can pay us a referral fee. We don’t receive your personal details from brokers, and we never pass your data to them.
Who processes data for us
Our website is hosted by Hostinger, which processes server data on our behalf. Our business email is also handled by our hosting provider. We don’t sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Legal basis
Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we process server data and correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website and answering the people who contact us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email editorial@thespreadlog.com. We’ll reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is about leveraged trading and isn’t meant for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
